Everything from a single overhanging branch to a large sectional dismantle over a glasshouse. If you're not sure what your tree needs, that's fine — describing the problem is enough, and I'll tell you the options when I visit.

Four steps, and you'll know exactly what's happening and what it costs before anyone puts a saw in the ground.

You get in touch
Call, email or use the form. Tell me roughly what you've got and where you are — a photo from your phone helps enormously.

I come and look
A site visit costs you nothing. I'll assess the tree, talk you through what it actually needs rather than what sells, and check whether it's protected by a TPO or sits in a conservation area.

A written quotation
Not an estimate — a fixed written price for a clearly described scope of work. It doesn't move unless you ask for something extra and we agree it first.

The work, and a clean site
We turn up when we say we will, work to BS 3998, and clear up completely. Chip and timber go with us unless you'd like the logs left.

About
Twenty years up trees, and still counting
Hello — my name is Richard Walsh and Richard's Tree Care is my business. I've spent more than two decades working in every part of tree care, from a single overhanging branch in a terraced back garden to large-scale contracts for highway agencies and local authorities.
I trained at Oaklands College, Merrist Wood College and Capel Manor College, and I've taken further training in chainsaw operations, construction site safety, power line awareness, traffic management and first aid over the years. Much of my career has been spent as a lead climber for other contractors — which is where you learn the difference between getting a tree down and getting it down properly.
Today I work as part of a small professional team, looking after domestic gardens, commercial grounds, schools and local authority sites across Hertfordshire. Every job carries £5m public liability cover, and the work is carried out to British Standard 3998, the code of practice for tree work.
What I'd want you to take from this: I'll give you honest advice about what your tree actually needs — including telling you when it needs nothing at all — and I'll leave your garden tidier than I found it.
